PARLIAMENTARIANS OF METRO NEW YORK, INC.

Parliamentarians of Metro New York, Inc. (PMNY) of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARLIAMENTARIANS® (NAP) was chartered on November 30, 2014 and incorporated on October 1, 2020.  Our  mission and vision is to promote the study of parliamentary procedure and provide engaging workshops and consulting services to local groups and organizations to support and encourage the proper practice of parliamentary procedure.

 

We are pleased to introduce the 2023-25 Board of Directors as follows:

The Unit is comprised of members who hail from the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. The charter members are: Isatu Kanu-James, Marlo Gantt, Renell Grant, Portia Harvey, Wilhelmine James, Veronica Malone, Loraine Richardson McCray, Nilda Rivera, Esq., Beverly Tatham, Esq., Jacqueline Waiters, and Tyrone Waiters.  

 

Since its chartering, the Unit's membership has grown in size and proficiency.  Our membership comprises men and women of diverse professional backgrounds including the fields of medicine, nursing, intellectual property law, education, television and film production.  The Unit's membership includes several credentialed members who have successfully demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of parliamentary procedure as well as the highest level of proficiency in the practice of parliamentary procedure.   Additionally, the Unit was recognized for its membership growth and increase in credentialed members at the 41st NAP Biennial Convention.    

 

The Unit has partnered with the Office of Manhattan Borough President, the Office of Bronx Borough President, and the New York City Department of Education Division of Family and Community Engagement to provide educational programs.
