ABOUT PARLIAMENTARIANS OF METRO NY
Parliamentarians of Metro New York (PMNY) of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARLIAMENTARIANS® (NAP),, was chartered on November 30, 2014. Our mission and vision is to promote the study of parliamentary procedure and provide engaging workshops and consulting services to local groups and organizations to support and encourage the proper practice of parliamentary procedure.
We are pleased to introduce the 2019-21 Board of Directors as follows:

The Unit is comprised of members who hail from the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. The charter members are: Isatu Kanu-James, Marlo Gantt, Renell Grant, Portia Harvey, Wilhelmine James, Veronica Malone, Loraine Richardson McCray, Nilda Rivera, Esq., Beverly Tatham, Esq., Jacqueline Waiters & Tyrone Waiters.
Since its charter the Unit's membership has grown in size and proficiency. Our membership comprises of men and women of diverse professional background including the field of medicine, nursing, intellectual property law, education, television and film production. Renell Grant (charter member), Isatu Kanu-James, Beatrice Lors Rousseau and Rufus Sadler achieved Registered Parliamentarian® (RP) status having successfully demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of parliamentary procedure. Furthermore, Shmuel Gerber, PRP, Lisa Grant DeGraffenreidt, Esq., Nilda Rivera, Esq. and Beverly Tatham, Esq. also charter members achieved Professional Registered Parliamentarians® (PRP) status which is the highest level of proficiency in the practice of parliamentary procedure. Additionally, the Unit was recognized for its membership growth and increase in credentialed members at the 41st NAP Biennial Convention.
At present, the Unit has partnered with the Office of Manhattan Borough President Gayle A. Brewer, Office of Bronx Borough President Rueben Diaz Jr., and New York City Department of Education Division of Family and Community Engagement to provide educational programs. Lastly, the Unit will host its third annual Public Educational Workshop on June 15, 2019 in New York City. The one day forum will include informative workshops facilitated by presenter(s) from the NAP Board and distinguished membership as well as an opportunity for attendees to sit for either the NAP membership and credentialing exams.
